News Briefs - Nov. 7, 2012

Radio One Atlanta Market Manager and Regional VP Bruce Demps will exit after six years, November 15.  He oversaw Urban  "Hot 107.9" WHTA-FM, Urban AC "Majic 107.5" WAMJ-FM, and Urban Inspirational "Praise 102.9" WPZE-FM.  As  Regional VP, he oversaw Atlanta, Washington, Philadelphia and Baltimore.  No replacement has been named.  Demps says, "My plan is to retire unless something unforeseen at this time motivates me to get off the sofa and the golf course.  The past six years have been amazing."

Rhythmic CHR "Wild 104.9" launches in St. Louis under Operations Manager Tommy Austin. The new format has the call letters KBWX-FM, which had been on Classic Rock "100.3 The Brew" as Clear Channel St. Louis does some major shuffling of stations.  "The Brew" goes bye-bye with its former frequency now occupied by Urban AC "Majic," moving  from 104.9 to 100.3, making room for the new "Wild."

Michelle Buchwalter will be the new morning co-host and Music Director for Hot AC "FM 100" WMC-FM, Memphis. She starts as morning co-host with Ron Olson, November 26.
