Envision Brings Nielsen BDSradio to Univision Radio

Envision Radio Networks and Nielsen announce an agreement under which Univision Radio stations will begin using Nielsen's music monitoring service and its radio programming tools. Both Envision and Nielsen say this deal makes Nielsen BDSradio the dominant service for Hispanic radio in the U.S. Nielsen BDS captures more than 100 million song detections annually on over than 1,900 radio stations, satellite and video channels in 176 markets across North America. "The idea behind Nielsen BDSradio was to create a simple, yet robust music tracking service for radio programmers and music directors; a service that is cost efficient, user friendly, and gives access to the most monitored Hispanic radio stations in the U.S.," says Envision Radio Networks President and CEO Danno Wolkoff. "Nielsen BDSradio is truly the power tool with actionable music data and up-to-the-minute reports that Univision Radio wanted for their stations." Univision Radio EVP of Content and Entertainment Evan Harrison tells us, "As our bi-lingual audience growth continues it is critical that we look at the overall radio market. Listening patterns, and tastes are changing at an exponential rate, especially with our younger audiences -- Nielsen BDSradio will enable us to keep our finger on the pulse.
