"106.5 The Lake" WHLK-FM, Cleveland, Program Director Tony Matteo is promoted to Operations Manager for the Clear Channel Wichita cluster. Formerly the Assistant Operations Manager for Clear Channel's Springfield, Missouri, cluster, Matteo joined the Cleveland cluster in April 2010, launching "The Lake" in January 2011. Says CC Wichita VP and Market Manager Rob Burton, "With family in the area, and an extensive knowledge of our market and cluster, from his days working in Springfield, Tony is a perfect fit for this market and our array of stations and we're elated to have him join our team. With a solid track record and strong leadership abilities, I'm confident that Tony will step in and build upon the strong foundation laid by Lyman James and help lead our team to even greater success."
Matteo tells us, "I'm thankful for the opportunity to have worked with Gary Mincer and Keith Abrams in bringing 106.5 The Lake to Cleveland. My years here have been amazing. I've been a big fan of the Wichita group for a long time and look forward to joining Rob Burton, Tommy Austin and the talented, passionate people of CCME Wichita." The cluster includes AC "B98" KRBB-FM, CHR-Top40 "Channel 963" KZCH-FM, Classic Rock "107.3 The Brew" KTHR-FM, and Country "Kissin' 102.1" KZSN-FM.
