'92.9 The Ticket' to Launch Jan. 1 in Bangor Maine

Townsquare Media will flip "Lite Rock" AC WEZQ-FM, Bangor, Maine, to Sports Talk “92.9 The Ticket” January 1. "Sports fans in eastern Maine will have access to 24-7 sports programming over the air and online starting Jan. 1 with the launch of ESPN-affiliate 92.9 The Ticket (WEZQ-FM)," says an official announcement. "The new format includes a local morning drive-time show hosted by Dale Duff and Clem LaBree, plus live, local play-by-play of high school games and the latest news from area college programs as well as the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Major League Baseball, the NBA and NCAA March Madness," says WEZQ-FM. "The station will also serve as the flagship station for high school basketball tournament week this February." We're also told that a new website at 929TheTicket.com is also set to launch January 1, "and will feature live streaming of local games as well as stories, photos and video from around the world of sports. Until the launch date, you can find the 92.9 The Ticket on Facebook and Twitter." Townsquare Media Bangor General Manager Tom Preble says he is excited about the new format. “Sports radio is the fastest growing format in the nation. 92.9 The Ticket will reach many eastern Maine fans with 50,000 watts on the FM dial,” he said. “Townsquare Media is also a leader in digital broadcasting and live events. This combination will make 92.9 The Ticket Maine’s foremost sports authority on air, online and mobile." Townsquare Media owns and operates five radio stations and websites in the Bangor market.
