Conclave Webinar Focuses on Helping Stations Capture the Essence of the Moment

Super Storm Sandy lashes the East Coast … a shooter terrorizes moviegoers in Colorado … when time is of the essence, stations must react instantly to trending events. This is when radio needs to keep its edge against other electronic media as well as social media. Promotions Guru Paige Nienaber will discuss how to capture "The Essence Of The Moment," during the next Conclave webinar Thursday, December 13, at 2pm CT. Neinaber will review ways for stations to acknowledge and react to spontaneous events, and to create structures and systems insuring reactions happen in a timely manner. With station personnel responsible for so many tasks, the immediacy of getting information to listeners and other fundamentals has gotten lost in the everyday fray. Neinaber says, "Radio’s reacting to disasters and topical local stories has been pushed to the sidelines. Things that people would have gotten fired for missing in 2005 are shrugged off with 'Well, that’s just the reality here at the station'." Paige Nienaber is VP/Fun 'N Games for CPR, and consults 100 of the largest and most successful radio stations in the US, Canada and Africa on marketing & promotions. Paige is also a featured industry columnist and has written two e-books "Radio Promotions From A To Y" and "The Encyclopedia Of Radio Promotions." Conclave webinars are always free of charge, however preregistration is required via the Conclave’s website at www.theconclave.com. Conclave webinars are produced and hosted by Conclave Board of Directors Member Jay Philpott, air talent at Hubbard Radio's 106-5 The Arch, WARH/St. Louis. The Conclave, a 38-year-old 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation offers year-round learning to the industry including webinars, a Speaker’s Bureau, and the annual national media summit Summer Learning Conference. Since 1979, Conclave has provided over $1 million in media scholarships. For more information on the Learning Conference and Conclave educational programs, visit www.theconclave.com.
