Conclave Announces 70th Webinar for January

Webinar Will Focus on Helping Downsized Radio Pros Get Next Job

The Conclave's 70th webinar, set for January 9, will focus on helping downsized radio professionals get their next job. In announcing the webinar, the Conclave tells us, "Over the past few years, the norm for radio’s 4th quarter has been the announcement of layoffs. This year has been no exception." The Conclave, we're told, in an effort to assist those recently unemployed, will present "Using Social Media To Get Hired, v2013" at 2pm CT, Wednesday January 9. "Jacobs Media Director Of Digital and Social Strategies Lori Lewis will update a webinar presentation from last December on recommendations to engage hiring managers into your social media circle increasing your opportunity for that next job. In this hour long webinar you will you learn five ways to help increase your chances of landing that new position. Also the content that potential employers look for in your social media profile that could stop your job chances dead in its tracks, along with profile postings that reflect positively on you," says a news release. Lewis says of her upcoming webinar, "While looking for a job always has its challenges, today's technology also opens up better lines of communication and opportunities to help you stand out. Make sure you're not misusing this new technology as first impressions are being formed online before resumes are being read." All Conclave webinars are free of charge; however preregistration is required at the Conclave’s website www.theconclave.com. Conclave Board of Directors Member Jay Philpott, air talent at Hubbard Radio's "106.5 The Arch" WARH-FM, St. Louis, produces and hosts Conclave’s webinars. The Conclave, a 38-year-old non-profit corporation offers year-round learning to the industry including webinars, a Speaker’s Bureau, and the annual national media summit Summer Learning Conference. Since 1979, Conclave has provided over $1 million in media scholarships.
