Roy Barboza Named Boston 'Hot 96.9' Music Director Greater Media names Roy Barboza to be Music Director/Mix Show Coordinator for Rhythmic AC "Hot 96.9" WTKK-FM, Boston. Barboza will be responsible for reviewing music for airplay, acting as a station liaison and supervising the station's mixers and mixes. Barboza most recently was the Director of Mix Shows at CHR-Top40 WFHN-FM, New Bedford. From 2001-2006, Barboza was Assistant Music Director at Rhythmic CHR "Jam'n 94.5" WJMN-FM, Boston. "I have known Roy for the past 13 years and have always greatly respected both his work as a mixer as well as his integrity and personal character," says Greater Media Boston Director of Programming Cadillac Jack McCartney. "Roy previously served as my Assistant Music Director for a number of years, and I'm happy we're able to bring him back to Boston to grow his programming skills and showcase the mixes he became famous for with the many listeners Hot 96.9 is already attracting." Houston's 'Mix 96.5' Moves Blake Hayes to Mornings, Hot AC "Mix 96.5" KHMX-FM, Houston, afternoon host Blake Hayes moves to mornings starting next week, while Chad Pitt joins for afternoons. Pitt, who is coming in from CHR-Top40 "Hot 101.5" WPOI-FM, Tampa, previously worked with KHMX-FM Program Director Bob Neumann at Adult Top 40 WSJT-FM, Tampa. "I believe this move will sure up our personality driven line up on Mix," says Neumann. "Blake is the perfect fit for where we’re going with the morning show. I talked to many very talented people during my search, but in the end, Blake is the right fit. It's nice to be able to promote from within." About Pitt, Neumann adds, "I worked with Chad in Tampa. He's a real pro and will fit right in with the Mix staff." Morning news and traffic will continue to be handled by John Paul Stevenson, who will also serve as morning show producer. Hayes has been hosting afternoons on KHMX-FM for just over one year. Entravision Promotes Eight to EVP Entravision Communications announces the promotions of eight to EVP. The newly created positions, says Entravision, will support the company's new management structure, which was announced this past November. All of the new EVPs will report to CRO Mario Carrera. Foley is promoted from within the Cleveland market, where she previously was General Sales Manager.
