Classical 'W-Bach' Set to Return to Portland Maine ![]()
"Maine’s iconic WBACH is set to return to the Portland airwaves on Monday, April 15 on the 96.9 FM frequency," says a news release from Classical "W-Bach 106.9" WBQX-FM, Thomaston, Maine, the one remaining signal of what once was a trimulcast. The announcement tells us that Portland FM translator W245AA, on 96.9, will end a simulcast with Country "99.9 The Wolf" WTHT-FM, Auburn, and WBQQ-FM, Kennebunk, to air the Classical "W-Bach" in Portland. Says the station, "The signal which has rebroadcast the Country format of 99.9 The Wolf for the past 9 years will return the popular Breakfast With Bach Morning Show with Scott Hooper, announcers Don Spencer, Larry King, and long standing weekend programming including the Kid’s Classical Hour, Saturday Night Classic Jazz, and the Paul Parent Garden Show to the greater Portland area."
